Guided by integrity, compassion, and a commitment to meaningful work, the team is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join a growing practice and help extend its positive impact.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

​

As our Medical Biller, you will oversee the billing cycle for our psychotherapy and clinical services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and seamless operations across claim submission, payment reconciliation, and client billing. Your work will help maintain integrity of our financial operations and allow our clinical team to stay focused on client care.

 

This is a fully remote role, offered as either a contractor or employee position (your choice), for approximately 15–20 hours per week.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

​

• Submit claims (electronic) to insurance payers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Review, track, and follow up on denied or underpaid claims

• Post payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies

• Perform client follow-up when necessary

• Maintain organized billing documentation and audit trails within EHR system

• Request and verify patient eligibility, benefits, and authorizations when necessary

• Collaborate with clinicians and admin staff to clarify billing questions

• Stay current on medical billing policies, CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding rules, and behavioral health billing guidelines

• Generate basic billing reports as requested

• ​Assist with appeals of incorrectly denied claims as needed

• Assist with annual rate negotiation requests with insurers

• Assist with credentialing new clinicians with insurance panels

IDEAL CANDIDATE

​

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical billing (behavioral health or outpatient clinics preferred)

• Proficient in billing software - experience with Ensora Health (formerly known as Theranest), is a plus

• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and payer billing rules

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Good communication skills — able to liaise with clinicians, staff, and payers

• Reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently

• Must have secure internet access and a reliable remote workspace

• Should be available during business hours between 8 am - 5 pm PST​

 

COMPENSATION & TERMS

​

• Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

• Role: Contractor or W-2 employee (flexible)

• Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week (within business hours)

• Location: Fully remote / virtual

• Start Date: ASAP
