Amrita Mehta, Ph.D.
Director of Clinical Services
Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Mehta completed her early education in India and her undergraduate and graduate training in CaliforniaCalifornia, U.S. She  began her career as a behavioral interventionist for young children with autism who also had co-existing medical, psychological, and behavioral concerns. She further received training in psychotherapy and psychological assessments in the community mental health, inpatient psychiatric hospital, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice settings. In addition to working in clinical settings, Dr. Mehta’s interest in human behavior spanned into organizational settings where she worked as a coach and consultant to emerging as well as mid- and senior-level leaders.

At Savera, Dr. Mehta performs psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults with cognitive concerns (e.g., attention, memory), developmental delays, learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, and co-occurring mental health and behavioral concerns. Using a therapeutic assessment model, she collaborates with clients to gain insight into their brain-behavior connection, and identifies strategies/resources that could best assist them with their current needs. Dr. Mehta also supervises doctoral-level, pre-licensed clinicians who offer assessment services. As the Director of Clinical Services, she also closely collaborates with Savera’s team of psychologists and coaches to ensure that our clients receive optimal and customized services for their needs.

Outside of Savera, Dr. Mehta enjoys gardening, cooking, practicing yoga, reading, hiking, and being amidst nature. She also is a vendor for the Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) where she assesses individuals for autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and other developmental conditions. Dr. Mehta also serves as an adjunct staff and executive coach for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), providing individual coaching and assessment feedback to middle and senior-level managers.

 

Dr. Mehta is fluent in English, Hindi, and speaks conversational Punjabi and Assamese.
