The Mind-Body Awareness Group is an introduction to the practice of Mindfulness as a way to cope with stress, pain, and illness and cultivate a deeper sense of emotional wellbeing. It is a skill-building group offered to adults seeking to practice more self-care and compassion.

Over the course of 8 weeks, the group will consist of guided experiential practices as well as reading and discussion on themes related to mindful awareness. Space will be made for sharing experiences and learning from one another. Support will be provided for building and tending a home practice of the skills learned in the group. The following topics will be essential to this group:

Learning about the physiological stress response

Identifying habitual thoughts and behaviors

Cultivating self-compassion

Strengthening interpersonal connections

Cultivating self-reliance
